Independence Day Weekend in Las Vegas: 5 Things to Do

Ready to celebrate Independence Day in the entertainment capital of the world? Las Vegas is one of the top destinations for most Americans. This year, with the fourth of July falling on a Thursday, the celebration will be longer than usual! To make the most out of your stay, be sure not to skip on these five activities.

1. Party at the pools

Since Independence day falls in the middle of summer, it’s pool party time in Vegas. Don’t forget to pack your favorite swimsuits and prepare to get wet with the crazy crowd! From Daylight beach club, Encore beach club, Palms, to Wet Republic, most resorts have raucous holiday pool parties – complete with patriotic decorations, hot entertainment, and cool drinks that will continuously pour throughout the holiday.

2. Enjoy fireworks shows

Excessive lighting may already illuminate Sin City, but on the fourth of July, the fireworks are the grandest! If you want to enjoy the illuminated sky, head to the Vegas Strip for the greatest show on Earth. Since the fireworks start shortly after sunset, it is a great idea to find the best viewing location earlier in the day, as the strip would be crowded with thousands of tourists and local residents. Guests already staying at the Strip are lucky because they can easily find a place to sit down and enjoy the show.

3. Get discounts at clubs

On the fourth of July, all bars will have drink and dining specials. There will also be discounts and contests. For instance, the Haze Nightclub hosts the Red, White, and Blue bikini extravaganza. If you come in a bikini that is particularly brave, you could win cash and prizes. Meanwhile, ladies who come in their flag-inspired bikinis at The Venetian get $5 open bar access. There are also patriotic-themed shots you can enjoy all night!

4. Feast on BBQ

What’s the fourth of July without the traditional barbecue? However, if you’re spending the Independence Day on the Strip, it’s likely you don’t have the tools and space for a holiday cookout. What you can do is leave the grilling to a few of the best chefs in the world such as Mr Lucky’s Cafe at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. This restaurant can serve you buckets of the greatest baby back ribs and smoked sausages.

5. Coin it

Place your bets at one of the many casinos in Las Vegas! Some Las Vegas hotels have convenient in-house casinos so you don’t need to go outdoors and go amongst the crowd. However, if you’re up for a stroll, head downtown and visit Plaza Hotel & Casino for wonderful options to spend those nickels and quarters. There are table games, slot machines, and Bingo games to keep you entertained. Who knows? Lady luck may be on your side.

Happy fourth of July everyone!
